Selous Riverside Safari Camp. Selous Riverside Safari Camp is one of many camps outside the area, and it is thought to be one of the best. Still, the camp is not in the best place because you have to drive through a town for 15 to 20 minutes to get to the reserve entrance. The lodge is on the bank of the Rufiji River, but the view from the lodge across the river is of fields instead of bush. Staying inside the park is always the best way to get a real safari experience and quick access to the best places to see animals.

Selous Riverside Camp: What You Need to Know

The tented camp is 5 km from Nyerere National Park, which used to be called The Selous Game Reserve. It has 10 large tents that all have views of the River Rufiji. There is hot and cold running water in each tent’s bathroom, as well as colorful furniture and a porch with a view of the river.

The large dining area and deck make it a great place to eat a traditional African meal outside under the stars. The pool goes all the way to the river and is a great place to unwind after a game drive.

For game drives, Selous Riverside Safari Camp has open 4×4 vehicles. They also offer boat safaris on the Rufiji River and walking safaris led by expert guides through the beautiful Selous bush.

You can have a better Tanzania vacation at one of the camps inside the park, but this one is still good.
