Ikuka Safari Camp
Ikuka Safari Camp. Ikuka is a lodge that has something for everyone. It is on top of a beautiful rocky cliff with the best views of Ruaha National Park. This beautiful lodge is run by a family and is full of love and care. It’s perfect for both big groups and couples on their vacation. Great cabins have great people running them. Mark, who was born and raised in the Ruaha area, runs and owns the camp. He is in charge of all the walking and guided tours in this park and knows it inside and out. You can look forward to a private, calm, and high-class tour here, with stunning views and excellent guides.
Ikuka Ruaha: The Specifics
It really stands out from the other cabins in the park because it is built on a beautiful rocky outcrop and only has seven bandas, one of which is a family banda. There isn’t another camp in Ruaha with such beautiful views.
The main area has leather seats, a fully stocked bar with amazing views of the park, a light and airy dining area, an upstairs library with free Wi-Fi and a chill-out area with floor cushions, and an infinity pool for those hot Ruaha afternoons. It feels like home even though I’m not there.
Each banda is shaped like a landscape and has a bed area in the middle that can be left open to enjoy the views or closed up completely with mesh doors and linen curtains. Views that will take your breath away can be found anywhere in your room, even in the bathroom.
People who are traveling with their kids and want a private area for everyone to enjoy is sure to love the family room. For couples on their honeymoon, the honeymoon room with its own private plunge pool gives them the closeness and privacy that make a honeymoon so special.
You can go on walking tours, game drives, and fly camping at Ikuka. In the northern part of Ruaha, it’s great to see animals. There are huge lion groups and amazing herds of buffalo here. This is also where wildlife from East Africa meets wildlife from Southern Africa. There is a good chance of seeing serval, aardwolf, and lesser kudu. For wildlife lovers, seeing some of the rarer and harder to find animals is definitely appealing.
If you want to go to Ruaha, you can combine Ikuka with Jongomero in the south of Ruaha for very different experiences, or you can stay at Kichaka for a great walking safari. Spending time between the two camps will give you a truly diverse and enjoyable safari.
