The Oyster Bay Hotel

What We Think The best place to stay in Dar es Salaam is Oyster Bay. In contrast to most Dar hotel airports, this one has only 8 rooms. The service and food are great. The rooms are huge and a nice change after a safari or a long trip. The Oyster Bay isn’t cheap, and most people only stay there for one or two nights. If you want to save money, we suggest staying at one of the bigger airport hotels, like the Royal Palm.

The Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam IS

A lot of the time, you would only stay at the Serena Dar es Salaam for one night because of an international trip. Dar es Salaam doesn’t have much to offer, so a hotel with all the modern conveniences close to the town center (and golf course) is a nice break from the town’s busy vibe. It’s also a good place to start any Tanzania Safari.

The Slipway Hotel

The Hotel Slipway is perfectly placed on the Msasani peninsula, 7 km from the center of Dar es Salaam and looking out over Msasani Bay and the Indian Ocean. In this fancy neighborhood, it’s the best value for money when it comes to lodging.
