Arusha Safari Tours. Arusha is surrounded by some of the most interesting and different national parks in Africa. It is situated in the foothills of Mount Meru, Kilimanjaro’s little brother, on a large area of fertile volcanic land. Tanzania’s Northern Circuit safaris begin in Arusha. Every day, a lot of safaris leave from this city. But thinking of Arusha only as a safari hub doesn’t do it right; it’s in a very beautiful part of Tanzania, and the town itself feels very warm and friendly.

What should I do in Arusha?

Arusha is the center of Tanzania’s tourism business; almost all people who go to the northern parks will pass through this town. There are adventure tour companies all along the streets, and 4x4s seem to be leaving at every turn. Arusha is more than just a safari town, though. It has great views of Kilimanjaro, and there are many coffee farms near the town, making it a great place to stay for a day or two before going on safari.

A full or half-day game drive through Arusha National Park is also a great way to pass the time. Even though there are no dangerous animals in the park, it is still very beautiful. It’s very quiet, and there are lots of different animals and birds living there. Another thing you can do is boat on the lake in the afternoon. This is a great thing to do if your flight home is late. Mount Meru is what the park is mostly known for. It is a lot trickier to climb than Kilimanjaro, and it’s a great task for more experienced climbers.

There are hotels in the town center and on coffee farms that are about a 30-minute drive away. The Impala Hotel or Roy Safaris’ African Tulip are both good places to stay on a budget. For a more personal and unique experience, we highly suggest the four-bedroom Onsea House, which was an instant hit at such a great price. Next in line are Rivertrees and Elewana’s luxurious but pricey Arusha Coffee Lodge.

There is a nice city called Arusha, but we don’t think you should spend too much time there. The best things about Tanzania are its tours and beaches. Giraffe Manor in Nairobi, Kenya, is a cool place to spend some time in the city… It’s clear that this is a location in and of itself. It might be a better use of time than staying in a hotel outside of Arusha. It does get booked up very early, though, so only think about it if you’re planning your trip at least a year ahead of time.
