Tanzania Safari Lodges & Zanzibar Hotels

Tanzania Safari Lodges & Zanzibar Hotels

Tanzania Safari Lodges & Zanzibar Hotels. On this page, you can see a full list of all the Tanzania lodges and Zanzibar hotels that are on this website.
It’s not easy to rank hotels with just one factor! But we tried, and here is an explanation of how our method works.

Our ranking is based on our opinion (it was decided by a lot of debate in the office) and tries to show both general quality and value for money. So, we could give only three stars to a “five star” Zanzibar Hotel in the sense of a hotel checkbox, or five stars to a great, honest “three star” Tanzania Lodge that always gives great experiences for the price. We care a lot about where something is, whether it’s in the woods or on the beach, and this has often affected our choice. It’s not normal, and it might seem to go against what most people think, but we can explain, and we really want you to call us to talk about it!

It’s not just Tanzania that we know!

If you want to know more about Tanzania, the best thing to do is call us during business hours. We really enjoy Tanzania, but we also really enjoy the rest of Africa. We have experts in all of the big safari countries. If you’re not sure where to go, please email or call us!

236 Hurumzi – Zanzibar, Stone Town

236 As We See It The Hurumzi Hotel was formerly the most popular place to stay in Stone Town; however, it was a very long time ago. It has since been replaced by offers that are significantly more appealing.

Alex Walker’s Serian Serengeti North – Serengeti, Mobile

This was a tent that were transportable. a lot nicer than we had anticipated. Friendly, competent, and courteous staff members were provided. It was a pretty healthy meal. An unforgettable adventure. Was able to stay for a longer period of time.
It is M. Goldsmith.

Alex Walker’s Serian Serengeti South – Serengeti, Mobile

We have been on a lot of safaris, but this one was by far the finest! Excellent service was provided by the staff, guides, and rooms.

Amani Beach Club – Tanzania Mainland

The Amani Beach Club can be found on the major land coast of Tanzania, within a short distance to the south of Dar es Salaam, the country’s commercial center. A beach hotel that offers a very good value and is located on an isolated coast.

In order to get away from the hustle and bustle of Dar es Salaam, the majority of people who utilize it are people who have left Dar es Salaam and are now living in this area. Because Ras Kutani, one of our favorite beach hotels in Tanzania, is located just down the beach, we only utilize this hotel on a very seldom basis. This is more pricey, but we believe that it is absolutely worth the investment.

Anna of Zanzibar – Zanzibar, East Coast

Our View Anna of Zanzibar is a beach lodge that is intimate, personal, and homely, and it features a beach that is really stunning. For those who are interested in enjoying the beaches of the south-eastern region without having to travel to the larger resorts, this alternative is a fantastic choice because it is both lively and well-managed. There are a few selections on Zanzibar that are mispriced, but this one is one of the few that offers actual value.

Arusha Coffee Lodge – Arusha

Excellent property with a kind management. Due to the 12-guest maximum, the villas are spacious and feel quite private. We spent the day on a private beach with nice sun loungers. Overall, the food was good, but you should like sea cuisine, which we both do. The waiters were nice, although occasionally items took a while to arrive (milk for coffee, coffee refill, olive oil, etc.). That should improve as they work there.

We lost 0.5 points because our villa was near to a construction site for more villas. The management cautioned us to let her know if there was noise during the day, but building activity is never silent, so we never stayed on our terrace. One night, there was loud hammering until 8pm, making it impossible to relax in the villa. It was the manager’s day off, and the other staff needed us to come up to them to alert them, even though the builders knew there were guests next door. The manager addressed our complaint professionally the next day and gave us free Baraza Spa massages and one night off because she was sorry it ruined a great visit.

Asilia Highlands – Ngorongoro Highlands

Another new project for Asilia is The Highlands, which is a very exciting one. Since this opens, the Ngorongoro area now has all the game camps that people who really love animals could want. The fascinatingly one-of-a-kind design fits in perfectly with its surroundings and gives off a real sense of wealth.

Azura Selous – Selous

The Azura Selous is closed.
Azura Selous, formerly Amara Selous, is now a luxury lodge. It was a hunting block until 2005, but it has subsequently become a popular game viewing and photography spot in the western Selous. Air conditioning (one of the only camps in Selous) and canvas and stone rooms that overlook the Ruaha River made the lodge a high-quality stay.

Baraza – Zanzibar, East Coast

The people who worked at Baraza also went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. Among other treats, the beach lunch was a real treat. After “roughing it” on safari, the stay at Baraza was a great taste of luxury.

Bawe Island – 15 minutes boat from Stone Town

When it first opened on June 1, 2024, Bawe Island was truly stunning. However, this level of luxury in the Indian Ocean comes at a high cost. Bawe is the best place to stay in the area, except for the private Mnemba Island, which is more naked. It is on 90 hectares of land off the coast of Zanzibar. If you like luxury, this hotel is the best there is. It won’t give you safari-style closeness, but it will give you luxury like no other.
