Nduara Loliondo Safari Camp | Serengeti

Nduara Loliondo Safari Camp | Serengeti. Nduara Loliondo is run by Nomad Tanzania, which has camps and hotels around Tanzania. This is one of their less commercial offerings; it is located outside the Serengeti border in the Loliondo area, where you may obtain wildlife as well as cultural experiences – this is Masaai country. We adore the ‘yurt’ tent type and the possibility to go on lengthy walking safaris in the woods.

Nduara Loliondo: The Facts

Nduara Loliondo is located in the Loliondo game control region, directly east of Serengeti National Park. The camp shifts from north to south throughout the year to monitor the migrational herds that come into this area; typically, they push down from the north beginning in late November. The camp is easiest approached from the north via Lobo airport, and from the south via Ndutu.

The camp is unique in that the tents are styled after Mongolian Yurts, with an extension for the en suite bathroom. The tents are very spacious and dispersed on the side of the hills, with views of the vast valleys and Masaai herders roaming with their livestock. The main camp area consists of larger circular yurts divided into a dining tent and a lounge tent, each with comfortable cushions and books to read.

The guest tents have the same Mongolian Yurt type, split out on either side of the main camp area, with views of Loliondo’s hills and huge valleys.

Because Nduara is located outside of the Serengeti, there are less rules and regulations, allowing guests to enjoy longer walking Serengeti safaris – typically reaching a hill in time for sunset and enjoying a well-deserved drink by a campfire. Because this is a location where the Masaai raise their livestock, visitors can also visit a boma or small town upon request. Nomad also offers night game drives, which provide a unique perspective on nighttime activities.
