Little Moru Camp
Little Moru Camp. Little Moru is more subdued than Nasikia Camps’ other offerings, but that’s perhaps what makes it unique. It provides an exceptionally personal and throwback safari experience, complete with barefoot amenities such as hot bucket showers and campfire storytelling. It’s an excellent choice for anyone looking for a conventional safari experience under expert guidance.
Little Moru Camp: The Facts
With only six tents, Little Moru will seem like a family throughout your stay, as you exchange stories about your day’s experiences with other guests and sip sundowners while watching the sunset.
The camp, located at the back of Nyaroboru Hill, has a compact main area and is surrounded by lounging acacia trees. It looks out over a plain in front of the camp that leads to good soils and the Musabi River. These lush grasses attract species from all over to drink on your doorstep, so game viewing is excellent all year.
This guaranteed grazing also encourages the Great Wildebeest Migration, which follows an annual cyclical route around the Serengeti.
If you travel between June and October, you’ll get an opportunity to witness these herds. There is also an endangered black rhino here, which is well guarded by rangers.
Little Moru is a true mobile camp that is only present from June 1 to October 31 of each year, when the wildlife is most abundant and the going is good. While it is essentially a tent experience, you will be comfortable in a decent bed, along with a small seating area, flushing loo, and a warm bucket shower. Tents can be constructed to meet your specific needs, ranging from doubles to twins, singles, triples, and quad family rooms.
Staying in such a modest, simple, and slick safari setup is an unforgettable experience that should not be overlooked in favor of a swimming pool or spa.
