Serengeti Safari Camp

Serengeti Safari Camp

Serengeti Safari Camp. Nomad is one of Tanzania’s longest-running safari enterprises, with camps and hotels located around the country. We adore the Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp because it is a mobile camp that follows the migration across the Serengeti National Park and has superb guides. Nomad is unique among cell operators in that it follows the migration with every step, not just during high tourist seasons.

Serengeti Safari Camp: The Facts

Serengeti Safari is a mobile camp that moves periodically to follow the migrating herds. The camp ‘leap frogs’ its sister camp to new places, ensuring that at least one camp is always available for guests to enjoy the migration. They are always ahead of the game (literally). The camp is mobile, but the clients never move with it! The Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp is always located near an airfield, making it easy to combine the Serengeti with other parts of northern Tanzania. A three or four-night stay at the camp is usually the best way to spend time in the Serengeti. For those seeking a sumptuous, rustic Tanzanian safari vacation, this venue is hard to top.

The camp is divided into two community tents in the center: a mess tent where all meals are served, and another tent with a relaxing ‘camping bar’ and comfortable chairs to enjoy a drink before supper or by the fire.

The eight meru-style tents are evenly spaced either side of the communal area, with views of the Serengeti. The tented rooms are en suite, with a bathroom at the back of the tent that includes a flush toilet and a bucket shower. The tents are quite cozy, and it’s hard to call this camping!

The major activity in the Serengeti is game driving, and Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp provides private game drives in closed-sided vehicles with expert guides. Whether you’re interested in giant mammals, birds, or insects, your guide will be able to answer any of your questions.

When planning a safari in the Serengeti, one of the most important decisions you must make is which sort of camp will best fit you. There are significant variations between permanent lodges and movable campsites. The permanent lodges do not move during the year and feature more amenities, such as swimming and plunge pools. This makes them ideal for families with children who enjoy spending the middle of the day splashing around in cool water, but they are somewhat more expensive.

On the other side, mobile camps are what define the Serengeti. Permanent lodges can be found throughout Africa, but a camp that moves with the wildebeest migration is only found in Tanzania, and we adore them! Aside from being excellent value for money, their movements put you in the greatest position to observe the migration throughout the year. Mobile camps allow you to fully immerse yourself in nature and experience the unique ‘Out of Africa’ atmosphere that attracts so many people to East Africa.

Combining Nomad’s camps around Tanzania would provide a fantastic and remarkable safari experience. If you’re sticking to the normal Northern route, Nomad’s Entamanu is ideal for a couple of days near the Ngorongoro Crater.

If the wild and untamed parks of Selous and Ruaha are more intriguing than the crowded Crater, Sand Rivers is one of the best properties and most luxury lodges in the Selous, while Kigelia in Ruaha provides a very rustic and true bush experience. With Nomad, you can truly have the best of both worlds on safari!

Nomad offers a variety of excellent rates, ranging from single camp long-stays to multi-camp packages, so whether you’re traveling alone, with a group, or as a couple, there’s something for you. Make sure to contact one of our Tanzania experts, who will gladly explain the many options available.
