Lemala Nanyukie
Lemala Nanyukie. Lemala’s Nanyukie, which opened in October 2018 in the magnificent Serengeti National Park, matches the same high standards of comfort and service as the other properties in Lemala’s collection, which also includes Kuria Hills in the Kogatende region of the Serengeti, Mpingo Ridge in Tarangire, and Hamerkop House in Arusha.
Lamala Nanyukie: The Facts
The Serengeti, which means ‘endless plains’ in the local Maasai language, is without a doubt one of the world’s most recognized wilderness places. Lemala Nanyukie is a 45-minute drive east of the Seronera Airstrip in the park’s central section. The camp is located on a grassy savanna sprinkled with kopjes and shaded by enormous ancient acacia trees, and it has spectacular views of these interesting ‘endless plains’.
With canvas walls, cathedral-like tented ceilings, and broad hardwood decks, guests at Lemala Nanyukie can expect light contemporary decor in a palette of dazzling whites and neutral colors, with warmth added by textured accessories, luxurious upholstery, wood furnishings, and well-executed lighting.
The main double-volume area will include a pleasant lounge and bar, an outside viewing deck with access to a refreshing swimming pool, and indoor and outdoor dining places. Lemala will also arrange special meals, such as bush breakfasts and lantern-lit feasts, to cap off a wonderful stay. The campfire is ideal for a post-dinner drink and sharing stories after an exciting day on safari. A separate spa tent among the woods provides undisturbed leisure during the middle of the day.
The 15 deluxe guest tents are made up of thirteen standard suites and one two-bedroom suite. Five of these apartments have extra day beds, allowing triples to be accommodated while remaining well apart for maximum privacy. The two-bedroom suite is ideal for families and groups of friends. The accommodation has a large bed, a roomy lounge area, and a bathroom with a double vanity, shower, and free-standing bathtub. The wonderful wooden terrace features recessed seats, an outdoor shower, and a stunning corner plunge pool with direct views of the Serengeti’s gorgeous plains. What more could you ask for?
This portion of the Serengeti is traversed by the amazing wildlife show of the yearly wildebeest migration, but it also boasts unusually high-density game watching at all times of year, particularly for cats. You may be confident that your activities, such as game drives and walking safaris, will provide thrills and fascinating adventures.
