Best places to stay on safari in Lake Manyara

Best places to stay on safari in Lake Manyara. Best Places to Stay on Safari in Lake Manyara. Although animal concentrations are not as great as in nearby parks, there are a variety of distinctive species that make this a worthwhile safari destination. The park’s major feature is Lake Manyara’s famous tree climbing lions; why these lions climb trees is still debated, but seeing a pride lounging on an acacia tree is a breathtaking sight!

The park is also well-known for its elephants and large population of baboons, as well as its diverse landscape, which supports an outstanding range of other species such as wildebeest, buffalo, hippo, flamingo, zebra, warthog, waterbuck, dik-dik, and impala. The birdwatching here is very excellent, particularly raptors. There are numerous places to stay in Manyara; here are a few of our favourites.

Little Chem Chem

Our View Little Chem Chem is located in a gorgeous and distinctively Tarangire landscape, surrounded by tall Baobab trees and acacia forest, with breathtaking views of Lake Burunge.

Manyara Green Camp

Our View Lake Manyara is, on the surface, the least popular of the Northern Tanzania parks. There is no Great Wildebeest Migration or Big Five, therefore it is frequently overlooked. However, deep within the park’s Southern sector lies one of Tanzania’s most calm, gorgeous, and tranquil secrets, which we insist must be included on any wilderness-seeking guest’s itinerary.

Chem Chem Lodge.

Our View Chem Chem is a magnificent resort with a gorgeous setting, however it is not suitable for anyone seeking a pumping safari lodge. It’s about taking it slow and seeing another side of safari. Perfect for the few who have the time and money.

Lake Manyara Ranch

Set directly near to Tarangire National Park in the Kwakuchinja wildlife migration corridor, which is home to over 50 mammal species. Manyara Ranch Conservancy is a small permanent tented lodge that provides wildlife drives in both Manyara National Park and Tarangire. The private conservancy is an exclusive and peaceful safari location located across the lake from Lake Manyara National Park.

Lake Manyara Tree Lodge

Our View Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is one of the most opulent lodges on the northern circuit, owned and operated by &Beyond. Despite its opulence, the lodge is one of the least visited, owing to its location in the quieter portion of Lake Manyara, as well as the fact that Manyara is overshadowed by the other larger wildlife areas in the north. We think this resort is fantastic, however we recommend staying at least two nights to make the long travel worthwhile.

Mandari Lodge

Perched high on the Manyara escarpment, Mandhari Lodge is all about the breathtaking vistas. Each apartment offers panoramic views of Lake Natron and the Monduli Mountains, giving it an excellent location for exploring the surrounding area. If you have plenty of safari time and want to explore the smaller parks of Lake Manyara and Tarangire, this is the place to stay. Furthermore, it provides outstanding value for money.

Kirurumu Manyara Lodge

Our View Many of the rooms and the bar area at the resort offer stunning views of the Great Rift Valley. We believe this is a fantastic alternative for individuals who enjoy a great view and a little larger lodge design.

Lake Manyara Serena

Although this is a large lodge, its spread-out form effectively conceals its size. The small pointy thatched chambers are spread out across a vast area, providing ample space between them. With only a 20-minute drive to the park, the Lake Manyara Serena is an excellent choice for this location because to its accessibility and breathtaking views. If tented camping isn’t your style or you don’t want to stay in neighboring Karatu, this is an excellent option.
