Mandhari Lodge

Mandhari Lodge

Mandhari Lodge. Perched high on the Manyara escarpment, Mandhari Lodge is all about the breathtaking vistas. Each apartment offers panoramic views of Lake Natron and the Monduli Mountains, giving it an excellent location for exploring the surrounding area. If you have plenty of safari time and want to explore the smaller parks of Lake Manyara and Tarangire, this is the place to stay. Furthermore, it provides outstanding value for money.

Mandhari Lodge: The Facts

This lodge is located in a stunning region of the Great Rift Valley, and the nine glass-fronted suites take advantage of the breathtaking views below. There are six ordinary suites with comfy mattresses and a light, airy, no-frills atmosphere, as well as one honeymoon nest suite and two two-bedroom family suites.

Built using locally available materials, the lodge feels natural and appropriate for its untamed surroundings. The main area has a swimming pool, dining area, lobby, lounge, and bar. While the camp is compact and cozy, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The community fire pit area adds safari enchantment to the stay, and it helps that it’s directly in front of that wonderful vista, even though the lodge is set back from the escarpment’s edge.

Guests can enjoy a larger range of activities because they are not in a national park, as opposed to a traditional safari camp. This camp can be used as a base to explore Tarangire National Park, which has a large number of elephants and spectacularly lush scenery, as well as Lake Manyara, which has flamingos and watery romance. The Ngorongoro Crater is also accessible from here, and it is well worth a visit due to the large concentration of big five species that wander this 20-by-20 km volcanic caldera basin.

In addition to safaris, you may enjoy cultural events and even go trekking in the undulating Ngorongoro Highlands, which have some of the most spectacular views in the country. Children of all ages are welcome, however if they are very small, you should check to see whether they may join you on safari expeditions.
