Ras Kutani Beach Lodge, Tanzania
Ras Kutani Beach Lodge, Tanzania. Ras Kutani is now closed for good.
This is the height of “barefoot beach luxury,” and it’s a great deal too. It is out of the way, quiet, and stunningly beautiful. When you add in great rooms, delicious food, and friendly service, you have the best beach lodge ever.
What We Know About Ras Kutani
The charter trip to Ras Kutani takes 15 minutes and takes you south of Dar es Salaam. You can also drive there, which takes about two hours. It is in a beautiful, out of the way place that is still a secret gem compared to Zanzibar’s more well-known beaches.
The sand walks go through the bushes and lead to the main restaurant area, the pool, and the guest rooms. The main part of the building is fully open and fits right in with its surroundings. The atmosphere is calm and friendly, and the staff is always ready to help with any needs.
Each house is set up along the coast, giving you a good view of the sea and the freshwater lagoon. The huts are big, open, and private. They have a thatched roof and a large veranda where you can rest alone. The suites are similar, but they are much bigger and higher up in the bush. They have a great view of the coast and are often visited by monkeys. They also have individual plunge pools that are great for a honeymoon in Tanzania.
A day at Ras Kutani could be spent lying on the comfortable beach, reading a book, and enjoying the service from the helpful waiters who are always on hand to help. You can also take a kayak and explore the mangroves, or you can watch turtle hatchlings on the beach as they run quickly to the Indian Ocean.
Another great thing is the food. In the evening, fresh fish and meat are cooked on an open grill. It has something for everyone on a trip to Tanzania.
Ras Kutani is a beach paradise that beats all other places on Zanzibar in its price range. Long may it last!
If you want to combine a beach vacation with a safari, Ras Kutani is in a great spot to quickly get to Selous and Ruaha National Parks in southern Tanzania. It couldn’t be easier to take it easy before or after coming back from travel.
