When you visit the Ngorongoro Highlands, you should see the beautiful, lush, rising hills and learn about the traditional Masai way of life. Since it’s not a National Park, the usual rules don’t apply. This means that you can go on fun camping trips and explore. A beautiful area of Tanzania.

The Plantation Lodge

In the Ngorongoro Highlands, Our View farm Lodge is likely our favorite coffee farm. Plus, it’s in a great place that makes it easy to get to the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. The food is especially good because they use vegetables from their very nice organic farm. The rooms are simple but very nice. There are some other great places in the area, like Gibbs Farm, but we think Plantation is the best right now.

The Asilia Highlands

Another new project for Asilia is The Highlands, which is a very exciting one. Since this opens, the Ngorongoro area now has all the game camps that people who really love animals could want. The fascinatingly one-of-a-kind design fits in perfectly with its surroundings and gives off a real sense of wealth.

Gibbs Farm

There is magic at our View Gibbs farm. The gardens have become a tropical paradise thanks to the area’s rich soil and beautiful views of the rolling hills. It really is one of a kind because it has so many different kinds of plants and animals, and the Ngorongoro Crater is only 30 minutes away.

What We Think When you go to the Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara area, the Ngorongoro Farm House is a good deal. The lodge is in coffee fields, and the hills around it are lush and have beautiful views. The lodge feels like an actual farm, and it’s a little more rustic than some of the other places in the area, but it’s cost the same.

The lodge is in the Karatu area, which is about the same distance from both Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. This makes it a great place to start a driving trip from Arusha.

Lodge in Ndutu

What We Think The location and simplicity of Ndutu Lodge are two things that we really like about it. It’s not a spectacular place, but when the herds are in the area from December to March, it’s the best value fixed lodge in the whole area. Because of this, this lodge gets very busy, especially in February. This is a “drive-in” lodge, which means you have to bring your own car and guide from Arusha. This also means that big safari companies can book this lodge up quickly.

The Exploreans Lodge

Exploreans is one of the newest lodges in the Ngorongoro Highlands, and it’s quickly becoming a favorite. It’s close to the Crater Gates, the rooms are nice, and the prices are fair, so it’s hard to find many problems. It doesn’t matter what kind of house you choose as long as you don’t want one that is built or decorated in a more traditional way.

Endoro in Kensington

Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater are great places to go on safari, and Kensington Endoro is a beautiful camp that is in a great spot for those trips. The rooms are great, and the price is great. But Plantation Lodge or Gibbs Farm is still the better option, especially if you’re willing to spend a little more. But if all the other places are booked, the Kensington Endoro is a great last-minute choice that won’t change where you stay in this area.

Kitela Lodge

A brand-new camp in the Ngorongoro Highlands that has many different areas. The space is big, clean, and fancy. It wasn’t built in the usual way, but it can work if you’re looking for a place in that area. Without a question, the scenery is beautiful, and the coffee plantations in the background are truly inspiring.
