Chada Katavi Tanzania

Chada Katavi Tanzania

Chada Katavi Tanzania. What We Think. There are only a few lodges in Katavi National Park, where Chada is situated. It is one of the most remote lodges in Tanzania and has some of the wildest game viewing in the country. By far, this is the best location. The guides, hosts, and staff are all very good. If you’re going to go to all this trouble, you should stay at the best place. But we couldn’t suggest that you stay at Chada without also going to Greystoke Mahale, which is its sister property in the nearby Mahale Mountains National Park.

What We Know About Chada Katavi Lodge The Chada Camp is tucked away in the shade of the trees that surround the Chada Plain. During the dry season, huge groups of elephants, buffalo, and other wild animals come to the plain.

The camp is spread out among the trees, and you can see the fields through the gaps. The tents are all set up on wooden platforms that are slightly higher. The camp has the feel of a traditional safari camp. A bucket shower and simple comfort make you feel like you’re back on safari. The main mess tent also has a great view of the plains and an eating and sitting area outside for nights spent under the stars.

Katavi is all about getting away from everyone else, and on game drives, you can often go for hours without seeing another car. While driving through the park in open-air cars to see animals is the main thing to do, Chada also offers walking safaris, night drives, and fly camping, all of which we think every guest should try.

Katavi is one of the most remote and little-visited parks in Tanzania. It is in the southwest of the country. For one thing, it’s hard to get to—not because there isn’t any wildlife there—because it’s hard to get to and the pricey shared private flight only comes from Arusha or Ruaha twice a week. You should stay at the best camp if you’re going to take the time and money to get here.
