Chem Chem Tarangire Safari Lodge

Chem Chem Tarangire Safari Lodge

Chem Chem Tarangire Safari Lodge. Chem Chem is a magnificent resort with a gorgeous setting, however it is not suitable for anyone seeking a pumping safari lodge. It’s about taking it slow and seeing another side of safari. Perfect for the few who have the time and money.

Chem Chem Lodge: The Facts

Chem Chem is located close off the south-east shore of Lake Manyara and allows visitors to see both Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park. Although Lake Manyara is nearby, the national park of the same name is 45 minutes away, whereas Tarangire is only a 20-minute drive away and hence the more convenient of the two.

The lodge is located within a private wildlife management area, which is itself part of a migratory corridor that sees a fair number of species throughout the dry season. Despite the fact that the number of animals is gradually increasing, Chem Chem cannot and does not market itself as a game viewing lodge. The goal here is to take things slowly and unwind in the stunning surroundings and very high-end accommodation.

Chem Chem is a lifestyle lodge, however not a phrase we particularly enjoy using. It’s (successfully) designed to be a place to relax and take in. We see their point. While safari is fantastic, it is fairly nonstop. Chem Chem provides an opportunity to take a step back and admire your surroundings, which include a lake and a verdant forest. The eight rooms and main space are as open as feasible while maintaining a sense of discreet elegance that values the natural environment.

Chem Chem, unlike most safari lodges, is classified as a 5 star facility due to its excellent facilities. You have a swimming pool to watch the game from, two fire pits, a lounge, library, viewing tower, a spa, a shop, and WiFi.

Although game drives in the private area are available, the lodge offers a variety of activities that complement the mild game watching. You can walk with the Maasai and run if you’re feeling fit, have sundowners on Lake Manyara, learn to track and photograph wildlife, and visit traditional sites. Although we couldn’t find any interested participants during our visit, you can get married there.

If you want to take a break from your Tanzania safari schedule and do something new, Chem Chem is the place to go. We’re just not sure whether any of our clients want to do this, especially at such a hefty price. Little Chem Chem is smaller, slightly less expensive, and conveniently located nearby.
