Kirawira Lodge | The Serengeti, Tanzania

Kirawira Lodge | The Serengeti, Tanzania. Kirawira is a tented camp, however it is not your average small and intimate safari camp. Because it is owned by the Serena network, it is larger than most, but it also provides excellent service and quality, which is often superior to that of larger lodges in this category. Located in the Serengeti’s Western Corridor, it receives a season-long migration but also has excellent resident game. The tents have excellent views, and you should be able to see the migration from your room in June and July.

Kirawira Lodge: The Facts

Kirawira Lodge is located in the Serengeti’s Western Corridor, approximately 20 minutes from the Grumeti airstrip and two hours from the Seronera area.

Kirawira’s beautifully tented dining space is built out on dark polished teak planks covered in rich woven rugs, surrounded by excellent writing desks and 1920s safari artifacts. Guests enjoy a la carte lunches served on exquisite china and silverware. Its lofty location provides spectacular vistas of miles upon miles of Serengeti scrub all around.

The Serena link is particularly noticeable at the swimming pool, where they excel at creating unique and attractive designs with water elements and private enclaves with breathtaking views that make the most of the surroundings.

Kirawira has caught a nostalgic, romantic ambiance, which is especially lovely as the sun sets and the many bulbs glitter to life in the African night. The camp is landscaped throughout to offer easy access between the 25 tents, even in the dark.
This lodge only offers game drives, but if you pre-book, you can also arrange for a Serengeti safari balloon trip. A absolutely amazing honeymoon spot.
