Kono Kono, Zanzibar
Kono Kono, Zanzibar. This house looks great in every way. The rooms look nice and are big. The beach and pool are also great. They aren’t running any other places on Zanzibar that we can think of, though. It may be worth staying here for three nights at the start of a trip, just to enjoy the rooms, private plunge pools, and quiet for a few days. This is also true for its sister lodge, Kasha Boutique Hotel. You shouldn’t expect the best service or all the drinks to be in stock, though. If you want to stay longer, you should give up the nice room and pay the same amount for a lodge that will meet your needs.
What We Know About Kono Kono Zanzibae
Kono Kono is on the Michamvi peninsula, which is on the eastern side of Zanzibar. Because this part of the peninsula is a conservation area, it is very quiet and there aren’t any other people around. It takes an hour to get there from Stone Town and another hour to get to the north of the island.
There are three different parts to the main house. Up at the top, far away from the water, is where you’ll find the door and reception. 50 yards down a walk, on the left, is the restaurant area, and on the right, is the two-level spa. The rooms are next. There are five on one side of the road and six on the other. There are 3 levels to these. The main pool and bar area is just on the edge of the beach, away from the water. There is also a bar on the beach, though it’s not very big. You can get snacks here while you’re lying on a beach chair.
With lots of trees and plants between them, the rooms are very private. Inside, there is a lot of space, and the bathrooms are huge and connect to a private bath and diving pool outside. Not all of the rooms can see the sea. The ones in the back don’t.
The front desk can set up all of your usual activities, but they don’t have a real activities center.
