Lake Manyara Serena Safari lodge
Lake Manyara Serena Safari lodge. Although this is a large lodge, its spread-out form effectively conceals its size. The small pointy thatched chambers are spread out across a vast area, providing ample space between them. With only a 20-minute drive to the park, the Lake Manyara Serena is an excellent choice for this location because to its accessibility and breathtaking views. If tented camping isn’t your style or you don’t want to stay in neighboring Karatu, this is an excellent option.
Lake Manyara Serena Lodge: The Facts
This resort is situated at the far northern edge of Lake Manyara National Park. It has excellent access to the park, as well as the Ngorongoro Crater and Karatu. The lodge is close to Manyara Airport and offers stunning views of the Great Rift Valley.
The main part of the resort has an ancient design with character from the early Manyara safari days. Although it is clearly outdated, it is not garish or worn. There is a large bar area that dominates a magnificent vantage point, and on the other side is a massive infinity pool that cascades from the magnificent Rift Valley into the park. The restaurant is fairly open, leading to an interior bar and reception room filled with small tables and comfortable seats.
The accommodations are housed in compact thatch units with two rooms each. These are pretty simple, with adequate toilets and, most importantly, great views down to the park.
Activities can be booked at the reception. There is mountain riding, village tours to Karatu, tribal visits, and, of course, safari game driving.
