Ndutu Safari Lodge | Serengeti. We enjoy Ndutu Lodge for two reasons: its position and its simplicity; while it will not blow you away, from December to March, when the herds are in this area, it is the finest value permanent lodge in the area. As a result, this lodge is extremely popular, particularly during the month of February. This is a ‘drive-in’ resort, so you must bring your own car and guide from Arusha, which means it may be full up by mass-market safari firms.

Ndutu Lodge: The Facts

Ndutu Lodge is located just outside the Serengeti National Park boundaries, yet it is in a prime wildlife region. The resort is best accessed by vehicle, as it is a ‘drive-in’ lodge from Arusha or nearby game regions such as Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro.

The lodge is one of the oldest in the area, and it has a simple and cheerful charm, not to mention a competent management staff.

The Lodge is made up of 34 stone cottages with thatched roofs, each of which is quite basic but clean and comfortable, with en suite bathrooms. It is a popular destination for Tanzania safari operators departing from Arusha, and it may become extremely busy during the calving season.

The main room features a basic bar and dining space, as well as beautiful views of Lake Ndutu.
