What We Know About Roho ya Selous
Nyerere National Park, also known as “The Selous,” is an unbelievable place to go on safari. Based on its size, it looks like it’s as wild as it gets. Luckily, this beautiful, barefoot luxury lodge is hidden in the middle of a huge forest. It is on a small hill with a view of the wildlife-filled water. You can sometimes just sit at camp with a cold drink and watch the amazing things that happen in Africa go by. It’s like being in real life National Geographic.
Roho ya Selous prides itself on being the right mix of luxury and adventure. Its rooms are air-conditioned, which is a great feature for a safari because it makes sure you can get a good night’s sleep. It also has the best things about going on safari in Southern Tanzania, like walking and boating safaris and great open-sided cars for exploring. With only 8 huts, Roho is a great camp for a more personal experience. It also has a great pool where you can cool off after a long day of safari activities.
There are large tents with private bathrooms, showers inside and outside, a lovely veranda, and a comfortable bed, so you’re not really camping here. Think of it as Africa’s most luxurious glamping experience—a magical pocket of luxury in the landscape of a bygone age.
