Stone Town Zanzibar

Stone Town Zanzibar

Stone Town Zanzibar. We really think you should go to Stone Town Zanzibar, especially if you’re interested in the history of the place. There are many things in Stone Town that you would miss if you didn’t have a helper with you. There are grills and a party vibe in the Forodhani Gardens at night.

Living history museums in Zanzibar’s Stone Town are very interesting, and the town itself is a great place to explore. The ancient jumble of narrow streets that make up Zanzibar’s “Old Town” are now a web of markets, shops, and craft centers. They were once the historic center of the ivory, gold, and slave trade.

Today, Stone Town depends on tourists coming and going. The locals pay a lot of attention to visitors as they sell souvenirs and offer dolphin safaris and sunset cruises. You need to know what Stone Town will give you and be strong enough to handle it!

It’s an old, poor, and messy town that has a lot to offer and a lot that could be made better. Its old castles, forts, balconies, and carved wooden doors tell some of the story of its great past. You can’t go to Zanzibar island without taking some time to look around here. As a culturally important part of your Tanzania vacation, you should try to spend at least one or two nights in the middle of Stone Town. Please keep in mind that the beaches in Stone Town aren’t as good as the ones on the rest of the island.

Hotels in Stone Town, Zanzibar

Or, the new Park Hyatt right next door is the best place to stay in Stone Town. The Serena is often thought of as one of the more business, western hotels in town, but it is actually housed in one of the oldest buildings in the area and looks beautiful. It is also the best placed hotel because it is right on the beach and has great views of the water.

The best places to stay in Stone Town, Zanzibar

Because the truth is, there aren’t that many places to stay in Stone Town. Even the best and biggest hotels aren’t quite 5*! You’ll like them if you are interested in Stone Town as a place to visit. When it comes to hotels in Stone Town, the Park Hyatt and the Serena are the biggest. The food and service at these hotels are very high-class, but the overall feel of the experience is a bit more raw than most hotels on the island. We think you should save your money for the beach and stay at a small, cozy, and natural Stone Town hotel.

Small hotels in Stone Town, Zanzibar

Smaller, Moroccan-style riads and former slave houses can be found tucked away down the many small streets. The most famous of these is Zanzibar Palace, a quirky little hotel with a long history and nice rooms filled with traditional crafts.

Beyt Al Chai and 236 Hurumzi (formerly Emerson and Green) are two other choices. A lot of new hotels open up all the time, and their quality and dependability vary. We suggest our tried-and-true hotels because there are so many things that can change, like how close the hotel is to the nearest mosque…
