The Truth About Usangu Expedition Camp

The Douglas Bell Eco study Station is right next to the Usangu Expedition Camp. This is where all the conservation study for the area is coordinated. You can visit the research station whenever you want, and different activities put together with the research station will give you a taste of what African Conservation Research is all about. The experiences will be a little different based on which researchers are on the ground at any given time. However, there is always a research coordinator on hand to make sure that guests who come to do research have a good time.

The Trails Camp also offers an exciting option where guests can sleep outside under the stars, or they can go on an extended mobile walking safari that can be tailored to their needs. You can swim in hot springs, make coffee on an open fire, look at the stars, and be amazed by the Usangu marshes’ natural beauty.

The camp is pretty small and cozy. There are only four large tents, and each one has its own private porch, bathroom, and star-cube. It’s nice and open in the main area, and there’s a campfire where people will tell stories about their days.
